Vardhman Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) is a government medical college situated at Pawapuri, in the Nalanda district of the Indian state of Bihar. It is affiliated with Aryabhatta Knowledge University.
VIMS is a state of Art Medical College & Hospital spreading at an sprawling area of 52.515 Acres of land . The first academic session of the college started in 2013-14 with admission of 95 students in 1st year MBBS course, the existing capacity is 100 students per year.
The College has Girls Hostel, Boys Hostel, Doctors Hostel, Intern Hostel, Nurses Hostel all G + 5 type , a community block , Student recreation centre, a modern air conditioned Auditorium apart from Faculty and Non-teaching staff accommodation with lift facilities. The whole College building is centrally Air conditioned having canteen with greenery all around the campus.
Presently the teachings of all the three pre-clinical departments are going on. All the lecture theatres and Medical Education Unit are provided with Audio-visual Aids, rendering the teaching effective and easy understandable. There are separate Practical rooms, Demonstration Room and Faculty chambers for all the three pre-clinical departments. The present faculty with extensive teaching experience take keen interest in teaching the basics of Medical curriculum and interact with the students to hone their skills and make them competent medical graduate, to serve the society & nation at large.
Student and teachers interact with each other’s freely; and participate in different extracurricular activities like sports, games, group discussion on various topics. We try to inculcate in them moral character and human values.
The hospital building, is under construction with the capacity of 500 beds for various clinical and super specialized departments. It has outpatient department, I.C.U, I.C.C.U , Operation Theatre complex having 10 major OT’s , Maternity complex, Radiology department having X-ray, Ultrasound, C.T. Scan, MRI under one roof, Blood Bank and Central Laboratory with all modern gadgets and latest facilities.
