Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Medical College, Indore (MGM Medical College) is one of the oldest & premier government run medical colleges in India. Previously known as King Edward Medical School (KEMH) ,which was established in the year 1878 , one of the earliest medical schools in Asia,it was converted into present medical college in 1948. Its teaching hospital Mahararaja Yeshwantrao Hospital (M.Y.Hospital) was established in 1955,was the largest hospital in Asia at the time of inception.

MBBS degrees were started from 1948 and selection done made through competitive exams. MD and MS degrees were started in the institution way back in 1953. MGM Medical College,Indore had many pioneers in the field of Pediatrics, General Medicine, Surgery and subspecialities were started as early as 1950. 

Total bed strength of 7 associated hospitals under MGM Medical College is around 2900. M. Y. Hospital has 1300 beds with all the major medical departments: surgerymedicineobstetrics and gynaecology, dermatology, chest and TB, orthopaedicsE.N.T.ophthalmologyradiologyanaesthesiologypaediatricsforensic medicine, and casualty,and superspeciality branches. Hospital has 25 bedded MICU,ICCU,15 hemodialysis machines, endoscopy unit. There are SICU, NICU, PICU, burn units, and surgical superspeciality units in M Y Hospital.This hospital gives special privilege to poor under a central government aided scheme.

NEET UG Counselling Procedure for All India Quota Government Colleges

The NEET UG counselling process for the All India Quota (AIQ) is managed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and is conducted online. The process involves several steps, including registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting.

Registration

  • Visit the official MCC website.
  • Click on the 'New Registration' link.
  • Enter the required details such as NEET Roll Number, Application Number, Name, Date of Birth, and Security Pin.
  • Pay the registration fee online.

Choice Filling and Locking

  • Log in to the MCC portal using the credentials.
  • Fill in choices of colleges and courses as per preference.
  • Modify and rearrange choices if needed.
  • Lock the choices before the deadline.

Seat Allotment

  • MCC processes the seat allotment based on NEET rank, choices filled, reservation criteria, and availability of seats.
  • The result of the seat allotment is published on the MCC website.
  • Download the allotment letter from the portal.

Reporting to Allotted College

  • Report to the allotted college with the allotment letter and required documents.
  • Complete the admission formalities at the college.
  • If satisfied with the allotment, complete the admission process.
  • If not satisfied, participate in the next round of counselling.

Second Round of Counselling (if applicable)

  • Fresh registration for new candidates.
  • Already registered candidates can directly proceed to choice filling.
  • Follow the same procedure as the first round for choice filling, locking, and seat allotment.
