Institute Details

College of Medicine & Sagore Dutta Hospital (CMSDH), also known as Sagar Dutta Medical College, is a tertiary referral government hospital, medical college and research institute in the state of West Bengal, India. It is situated at Kamarhati, in the suburbs of Kolkata. It has been set up by the Government of West Bengal in 2010 and started M.B.B.S. courses from 2011 to reduce the shortfall of doctors in the state. It is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences and recognised by Medical Council of India.

ADMISSIONS-

The admission of the 2013 batch and all batches from 2017 onwards is now based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) (NEET-UG) rank list.

Admission to Diploma courses is undertaken by S.M.F.W.B. according to marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Admission to the Post Graduate courses are based on NEET-PG rank list.

INFRASTRUCTURE-

  • The total campus area is 17.63 acres.[11]
  • The eight-storey academic building houses the central library, lecture theatres, demonstration rooms and practical laboratories along with the auditorium and the morgue.
  • The six-storey hospital buildings has 500 beds and 11 O.T.s.
  • The buildings have been constructed at a cost of Rs. 100 crore with modern facilities and emergency safety features.
  • The old hospital building has been renovated and has become the new OPD building. OPD timings are from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.
  • The Central Library in the new academic building houses a 7500 books along with 80 foreign journals and has high-speed internet facility for e-library facility.
  • Hospital Blood Bank and Fair price medicine shop is present.
  • Separate hostels for boys and girls with option for availing cable broadband internet.
  • Separate Hostel for Interns.
  • The three canteens serve both veg and non-veg foods of various types.
  • Residential quarters for teachers and staffs.
  • A Rs. 40 crore tertiary cancer care centre is under construction, the first of its kind in a state-run medical college of West Bengal.

NEET UG Counselling Procedure for All India Quota Government Colleges

The NEET UG counselling process for the All India Quota (AIQ) is managed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and is conducted online. The process involves several steps, including registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting.

Registration

  • Visit the official MCC website.
  • Click on the 'New Registration' link.
  • Enter the required details such as NEET Roll Number, Application Number, Name, Date of Birth, and Security Pin.
  • Pay the registration fee online.

Choice Filling and Locking

  • Log in to the MCC portal using the credentials.
  • Fill in choices of colleges and courses as per preference.
  • Modify and rearrange choices if needed.
  • Lock the choices before the deadline.

Seat Allotment

  • MCC processes the seat allotment based on NEET rank, choices filled, reservation criteria, and availability of seats.
  • The result of the seat allotment is published on the MCC website.
  • Download the allotment letter from the portal.

Reporting to Allotted College

  • Report to the allotted college with the allotment letter and required documents.
  • Complete the admission formalities at the college.
  • If satisfied with the allotment, complete the admission process.
  • If not satisfied, participate in the next round of counselling.

Second Round of Counselling (if applicable)

  • Fresh registration for new candidates.
  • Already registered candidates can directly proceed to choice filling.
  • Follow the same procedure as the first round for choice filling, locking, and seat allotment.
